A USMA GRADS ANSWER

IRR Delay and Exemption
Client Testimonial #17 - A USMA Grads Answer

After graduating college in 2001, I served 5 years on active duty. During one of those years, I was part of Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. I am proud of my service to our great nation and was ready to start building my career and family. I separated as a Captain and transferred to the IRR never thinking I would get called back. I kept close to friends I had in the military who separated before me. None of them received orders and their resignations where accepted as planned. In February of 2009, my world was turned upside down.

I had just moved my family to a new state and my wife and I both started new jobs when the orders came. Stability in this economy for a family of 4 is tough enough without adding mobilization orders to the list. When I heard about the orders, I went numb. I couldn´t think let alone start devising a plan to handle the situation. My tensions at work and home immediately escalated exponentially as I was forced to take on this new job and handle the resurrection of past deployment memories.

One of the first things I did was talk to friends and old commanders to get advice and guidance for what steps to take. I also contacted several congressmen to explain my situation. I had never felt so lost or helpless in my life. And the thought of deploying again while leaving my family behind at such short notice was unbearable.

I started to read blogs on the internet about soldiers applying for delays and exemptions. Most were failed cases even though their reasons were just. I decided to develop my own exemption package, but without fully understanding all the Army´s policies and regulations my chances of success were decreased. This situation was not one where I would accept anything but putting my best foot forward. The consequences were too great to not do everything in my power to build a successful case.

Bill Meili was my answer. I was very hesitant at first to put my trust in his hands knowing what could happen. After talking to some references he provided who happen to be classmates of mine, I felt I could finally take a breath of air. Bill was great from the time I met him on the phone to the time a decision was made on my packet. We thoroughly talked through my case and he explained what he needed me to do. We developed a clear set of actions and deliverables from both parties and then executed. Bill laid out an accurate timeline and explained the process I was about to embark on. He was with me on every step of the way and truly was my right hand man. No matter what question I asked him, Bill was right there to take care of me and provide me with the confidence I needed.

In March of 2009, I received word that my exemption was approved. I can now focus on what matters to me most in life with my family and work. Bill is a hero to my family and we will never forget how a stranger to us at the time did so much for us. If you are serious about submitting and getting approval for an exemption packet, then you need Bill Meili. He will individualize the case to your situation to give you the best possible chance for an approval. I highly recommend the service Bill provides. Take charge of the situation and pick up the phone! You´re not alone!
